Reina’s Review

I made this apple pie recipe once before, and it turned out great, but it was missing something. This time, I added some cinnamon and nutmeg to enhance the flavor and I think that I overdid it a little. However, I fixed that on the recipe and I think that it will be perfect now. This apple pie recipe is super simple and easy to make. It just took a long time to cut the apples into slices because I didn’t have enough originally. However, if you use homemade crust, then the pie will take a lot longer to make. It was generally very easy because there was almost no preparation required. Everything was simply combined and poured.

The end result of this recipe was super delicious. I could smell the pie around 20 minutes before it finished baking and it smelled heavenly. When I finally cut the pie, the inside was gooey and cinnamony and looked really good. I ate the pie with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream and the taste was really good. The strong spices balanced with the sugar and the apple and the texture worked really well with the flaky crust. Also, the lattice work on the top of the pie was crispy from the sugar butter liquid and tasted really good. If you want a dessert that takes you back to the crisp leaves and the orange trees of autumn, this is the pie for you!

Shaina’s Review

When Reina presented me with a piece of apple pie, I was excited to try her very own recipe. She forewarned me that the spice might be overpowering, as she had a heavy hand while mixing the apple filling. However, when I took a bite, I was amazed at how the soft, gooey apple filling balanced so well with the flaky, buttery crust. I couldn’t stop eating, as the sweet and sour apples paired perfectly with cinnamon and nutmeg sprinkled into the mix. Everything came together so well that it was like taking a bite out of every grandmother’s best pie at the same time. The flavors of this pie worked together in harmony to create the best autumn dessert I have ever had (ever!) What’s most shocking is that Reina made this recipe from scratch, so kudos to her for making a delicious pie all on her own. I definitely recommend you try this recipe at home, as it is one of my favorite apple pies I have tasted. It was very simple and original, but the simplicity is what makes it a classic and taste truly amazing. Reina did reduce the amount of spice on the recipe listed than what she actually used, but I think the spice level is based on personal preference rather than an actual set amount. What I thought was a good amount of spice, Reina thought was too much. Add more or less based on what you like. I genuinely enjoyed this pie and it was one of the best I have had in a long time. Overall, great recipe Reina!
