A new club, the Kalani e-sports club was created at Kalani recently. This club is for students who want to get together and meet people who are interested in video games that they all love (although they did mention board games). More specifically the club has a focus on the game, League of Legends (LoL for short). Players from all around the school will be able to join the club to hang out, meet new people, get better at the game, have the opportunity to play in real competitions, and have fun. After attending the first trial meeting to introduce what the club is for and the leaders, I can say the club seems like it will turn out a success. The amount of players who decided to show up and learn more was quite the number. The classroom was packed with people who all share a common interest. It looks like the club is tailored to make sure everyone has a place in the club even if they don’t have any interest in LoL. Their goal is to get people together who all like games in general. People who want to play or talk about any other game, are welcome.
From the introductions that I saw, the leaders of the club seem like they love the game as much as many of the students who showed up. While in the meeting I was able to look around and I was surprised at the amount of people who I didn’t know at all. If my experience is anything to go off of, then I can almost assure that you will most definitely create new friendships with people that share a common interest with you. One of the goals of the club is to introduce people to other people so they can create new friendships. By the end of the year, the members who joined that club will have all gained something.
All in all the Kalani e-sports club seems like it will be a big success and may end up lasting for a while from what I saw. I’ll definitely go back to the next meeting to see what the club has to offer.
