In Kaimuki, a community art project run by streetARThawaii is painting murals over thirteen traffic signal boxes commonly targeted for graffiti. The colorfully painted boxes appear along Waialae Avenue from 17th Avenue to 8th Avenue and from Koko Head and Harding to 7th and Harding Avenues. Many of the artists involved live in the area. The projects stated goal is to reduce graffiti in the area. Photo by Emily Bullock 2018.
