Kalani High School faculty and staff see the schools bathrooms as a place where students do their business. For students, it’s a whole different story. Some Kalani students say the bathroom is a “secret spot” to do drugs and drink alcohol. Others write and graffiti all over the stalls, the evidence of which is easy to see. Some students say they vape in the bathrooms during school hours because nobody ever comes in. One student recently reported finding a can of Jose Cuervo Margaritas in a trash bin in the A building girls bathroom. Photo by Mele Moa 2019.
