The Kalani varsity football team has high hopes for the season after a 28-7 win over Kalaheo on Saturday, Aug. 20 at Kaiser High School.

Kalaheo was their first in-league opponent this year, which means it counts to their chances of making the playoffs.

The game went “really smooth” for the Falcons, according to varsity receiver La’akea Nishimoto (10).

“Our team was working as a unit,” he said.

The Kalani Falcons are moving up in the division, past opponents like Kalaheo and Mckinley.

With a tough schedule ahead, Kalani will try and add to their winning record. Kalani faces league opponents this year such as Kaimuki, Nanakuli, Mckinley, Pearl City, and Kaiser.

Kalani has set the bar high this year; that goal is to win State.
