Social Media started in 1997 and now it’s bigger than before.

Many people rely on social networking to catch up with their friends, post pictures and videos, and to see what’s going on in other parts of the world.

According to New York Times, Instagram has earned more than $35 billion. There are many different opinions and outlooks from people that are on media.

There are positive but also negative effects when it comes to social media according to Hannah Pang, a student at this school. “I use Social Media to see what my friends are doing and to keep in touch with them,” said Hannah. “Though, sometimes people use social media to judge others. I like it when people use it to support each other instead of putting each other down,” she said.

“Sometimes I don’t like the way this generation relies on social Media, and I wish they would interact with each other without their phone,” Hannah said.

It’s now come to a point where people rely on Social Media for their main source of income.

According to Forbes, Social Media Influencers can earn almost $100,000 for a few posts. The posts that make them earn most are the ones that are sponsored. For example, if Pepsi was sponsoring a celebrity and the celebrity made a post about Pepsi, that celebrity could make even more money. Social Media Influencers and celebrities can get paid a certain amount for helping sales go up.

Overall, Social Media has its own positive and negative effects, but in the end, it’s just going to increase in popularity.
