This year, Kalani High School Athletic Director Mr. Van Cantfort is creating a new athletic website for the community. The site aims to make it easier for the community to navigate information about athletic programs, showcase the pride and professionalism of Kalani, and provide meaningful content.
“We wanted to create a central hub for our campus and extended Falcon ‘Ohana — a place where students, parents, alumni, and community members could easily access the latest news about Kalani Athletics from any computer or mobile device,” he says.
The website has a complete list of athletic programs offered at Kalani, categorized by season (Fall, Winter, Spring), along with specific teams such as Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, and Varsity Football. Visitors can also find administrative information, including contact details such as the main phone number, directions for registering for a sport, and specific notices about upcoming deadlines. For example, the Spring Sports registration deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026, at 6 p.m.
Mr. Van Cantfort made sure the new website was easily accessible for all in the community. It is now easier to navigate and carries more information. He wanted the new website to be convenient and informational.
“When I became Athletic Director in 2006, the general public had very little knowledge about our athletic program – our achievements, opportunities, and all that we had to offer,” he explains.
At the time, Kalani Athletics was often the subject of “lighthearted but inaccurate stereotypes,” he says.
Although the website has improved communication and recognition for the school, there are still challenges, such as not having a specific individual to maintain it.
“The biggest challenge, however, is that this remains essentially a one-person operation,” he says.
All members of the community are invited to visit the website and official Instagram page regularly for athletic updates, highlights and sports features.
