The 2026 Kalani Association of Students (KAS) and Class Office elections are here. This annual event is a cornerstone of student democracy, and this year’s races show a wide array of talented students who have come forward to serve the Kalani community. Walking through the halls, students are greeted by a colorful display of campaign posters, each created to capture the essence of a candidate’s platform.
The races for KAS positions are drawing a significant amount of attention, with candidates using unique approaches to stand out. For the KAS presidency, Taylor Wong (11) has a prominent poster upstairs in the C-Building. Her display features playful selfies framing bullet points that outline her goals and skills, creating a balanced and engaging message. Also campaigning for the top spot is Nicole Du (11), whose posters are characterized by a colorful and playful “newspaper” design.
The competition is equally lively for the other KAS positions. Annika Li (10) is making a strong push for KAS Secretary along with Zachary Li (10) and Noah Yasuda (10). Their posters are prominently displayed near those of Aeda Hasty (11), who is running for KAS Vice President against Rex Ho (10). Vying for the KAS treasurer position, Yurong Chen (9) is up against Aaron Kwak (9) and the historian position sees Arianna Iwamoto (10) running against Haley Ogata (10).
This year’s crop of candidates represents a diverse range of students, each bringing a unique perspective and set of ideas to the table. Students are encouraged to take a closer look at all the contenders, consider their proposed initiatives, and make an informed decision when they cast their votes after Spring Break on March 31 during Advisory. The 2026-2027 Student Government, as depicted in the attached photo, will play a vital role in shaping the school’s future, so this election is a crucial one for all Kalani students.
